This is not a one-and-done practice, but one that I revisit over and over and over again. The gospel is a personal invitation to bask in belovedness—to more deeply understand and enjoy the deep, deep love of God for you and me. I’d encourage you to engage in several of the following practices over the next few days or weeks with curiosity and openness to whatever God may have for you. May the Lord bless your journey of experiencing his love more deeply!
As you enter into any of these practices, take a few moments to become still and comfortable, taking a few slow, deep breaths to settle your mind and body. Ask the Lord for the grace of understanding and experiencing his love more deeply right now.
Finally, consider what difference being beloved of God makes to you in your daily life. How can basking in your belovedness throughout your days help reframe your view of yourself and your posture towards loving and serving others? Ask the Lord for grace and freedom in any area where you’re responding more like an employee or slave rather than a beloved daughter or son of the living God.
As you finish any of these practices, take a few moments to talk to God about whatever you’ve experienced—good, not so good, or simply meh. Then take a few slow, deep breaths before you resume other activities.
